La Grange Family Farm is comprised of the old McCleod House, the charming mid 1800 Bank Barn, the land that once again is a working farm and a host of animals who reside here. We love being part of the community here and work hard to have regular events so that the local families can see what being on a farm is like. Our old smokehouse has been converted to a guest cottage for rent and the barn is open events. Our farm stand is open round the clock.

Located in New Market, Virginia, the museum provides opportunities to reflect upon the Battle of New Market which raged just outside on May 15, 1864. In addition to museum exhibit galleries, the site features the state-certified Shenandoah Valley Tourist Information Center, an Emmy-winning film, Field of Lost Shoes shown every hour, and a 300-acre battlefield park preserving the core areas of the battlefield and historic Bushong Farm.

The visitor center features information and exhibits on the Battle of New Market and how to tour the battlefield today. Shop at the museum store which offers books, relics, souvenirs, and visitor information on New Market and battlefields throughout the region. A trail system begins on site that follows the Confederate advance as they drove the Union army from the town during the May 15, 1864, battle.

In 2018, the historic Henkel Home returned to its 1800 roots as Jon Henry General Store. The Store focuses on sourcing local, regional and Fair Trade treats, gifts, and eats; just about everything like brooms, vintage license plates, jams & jellies, local honey, memorabilia, wooden toys, canned goods, snacks, candies, or gluten free flour fill the shelves.
The Edith J. Carrier Arboretum, a woodland sanctuary, on the James Madison University campus, is a public, urban garden and forested greenspace that preserves native species, provides opportunities for research, and promotes knowledge of the botanical and natural world for people of all races, religions, orientations, identities, ages, and abilities.
